- Is Mission To Virginia a Baptist home mission?
No. M2V is nondenominational and has seen dozens of Christian denominations as well as nondenominational churches participate in the past. We pray that M2V is just one other vehicle that shows the world that although we all may practice differently, Christians are unified in their belief that we serve a risen Savior.
- What is a "host" church?
A host church is a church who volunteers to organize other churches and organizations in their community or county in Mission To Virginia. They can work with area social service departments to help find neighbors in need or local businesses that might want to help sponsor or provide materials for local missions.
- I'm interested in participating but where do I start?
If you are not aware of a host church in your area, contact the M2V leadership team and we may know of one. If not, the leadership team will work with you directly to help you organize your own mission. See our contacts on our CONTACT US page.
- Our church has another event on November 14th. Can we still participate?
Definitely. Churches that cannot participate on the scheduled M2V date are welcome to plan a mission that is more convenient for them. Please just inform your host church or the M2V leadership team of when you will be having your mission so that we can recognize your participation.
- Is our church too small to participate?
Mission To Virginia is about serving God's people. Your church should help as many people as it can handle whether that is one family or a dozen. You can also join forces with another local church so that you don't double your organizational efforts.
- What type of mission projects can we do?
That depends on the number of volunteers you have and the gifts available to you. We have seen churches build handicap ramps, re-roof houses, and renovate bathrooms. However, we've also seen churches rake leaves or simply clean for the homebound or elderly. It's really not as much what you do but how you do it...and how you let the Lord work through you! No job is too small.
